Seeing one’s baby in pain, especially due to constipation is a great misery for parents. If one’s child has just started eating solid foods and is finding it difficult to pass stools or has dry and hard stool, this means the baby is suffering from constipation. - He or she would have less than three bowel movements per week
- The stool may be hard and dry

- In case the baby is over 6 months of age and has been started on complementary foods, water needs to be given after every semisolid feed.
- Before six months all its hydration comes through breast milk.
